Over 40 million people in the United States and Canada live in poverty, including approximately 22 million children facing food insecurity. Most of the adults in poverty have jobs and work. More than 26 million people endure substandard housing conditions, and each night an estimated one million individuals are homeless and unsheltered. To ensure that economic progress benefits everyone, innovative and inclusive approaches are essential. Continuing with the same strategies while expecting different outcomes is not just ineffective, it’s fundamentally irrational. Communities must embrace new solutions to create a future where no one is left behind and everyone has an opportunity.
